It is also personal. Johanna and her husband Brandon are raising Connor and Clover here, fixing up a 1955 Cape Cod and building furniture in their own wood shop. We know what the older houses around the courthouse square are like to live in, because we are living in one.

Before starting the studio, Johanna spent years in hospitality, flipped and resold vintage furniture and decor, curated vintage collections and then worked at a local staging company. That mix shows up in the work: practical about logistics, and happiest when a room has a few pieces with a story. More on Johanna and the studio.

Licking County mixes things that rarely sit so close together: historic brick in Newark, a college village in Granville, lake homes at Buckeye Lake, and newer subdivisions spreading west toward Pataskala and Johnstown. Each needs a different approach, and each is closer to our studio than to Columbus.

Two of our most distinctive projects are in this county. On Raccoon Valley Road in Granville we staged a renovated farmhouse with beamed ceilings, two brick fireplaces and arched black built-ins. Cream slipcovered seating, vintage-style rugs and warm wood let those features carry the photos instead of competing with them.

On Oak Drive at Buckeye Lake the house had white textured plaster walls, terracotta tile laid in sweeping arcs, a floating staircase and a wooden ceiling. We used long low sofas, round tables with cane chairs and a carved wooden bench so the architecture stayed the point, and staged a bedroom with two beds to show how the house could host a full weekend.

Licking County homes are often sold by people still living in them, sometimes after decades. Occupied home staging takes a supplemental approach: we work with your furniture and bring in only what is missing. Empty and estate homes get full vacant home staging with furnishings, art and decor, focused on the entry, living room, dining room, kitchen and primary suite.
