Granville is six miles west of our Newark studio along SR-16. It is practically a neighbor, and one of our favorite places to stage.

Home staging in Granville, Ohio is about as local as it gets for us: the village is roughly six miles west of our Newark studio along SR-16. Granville was settled by New Englanders, and it still shows in the historic homes along Broadway and the side streets, with Denison University on the hill above town. Out in the surrounding townships there are farmhouses, some carefully renovated, on larger lots.
In Granville, the house is usually the star. Original woodwork, brick fireplaces, built-ins and old floors are what buyers are looking for, and staging should frame them rather than compete. That means a restrained palette, furniture with some age or handmade character, and fewer, better pieces instead of a showroom full.
Older homes also bring older layouts. Rooms can be smaller or oddly shaped, and a bedroom with a fireplace or a parlor off the dining room may leave buyers unsure what it is for. Part of the job is giving each room an obvious purpose. With renovated farmhouses, it is the reverse: new kitchens and open rooms need warmth added back so they do not feel like a blank page. Some Granville buyers are connected to the university, some are moving out from Columbus for village life, and both groups respond to a house that feels lived in and cared for.
Raccoon Valley Road was a renovated farmhouse with wood-beamed ceilings, wide hardwood floors and two brick fireplaces, one flanked by arched black built-ins. In the main living room we set cream slipcovered sofas and rounded chairs around a brown ottoman on a pale vintage-style rug, with the beams and brick doing the heavy lifting.
The kitchen, with a rustic beam over the range and a turned-leg island, needed only a few pieces. The dining room got a wood table with woven-back chairs under a candle-style chandelier. The large primary bedroom, with its own fireplace and built-ins, was zoned into a sleeping area and a sitting area with two slipcovered chairs. A second room with built-in shelves became a home office.

Granville is only about six miles from our Newark studio, one of our shortest trips. Delivery and logistics are part of the custom proposal we write after the onsite assessment, which covers the rooms, furnishings, installation and pickup.
That is the goal. We use a restrained palette, vintage and handmade pieces, and fewer items per room so original woodwork, fireplaces and built-ins lead. On Raccoon Valley Road, cream seating and warm wood let the beams, brick and arched built-ins carry the listing photos.
Often with the one-hour staging consultation. A team member walks the house with you, suggests what to keep, move and pack, and then writes up a checklist. Ask us if you also need hands-on help carrying it out.
We try to. Staging generates a lot of waste, and we lean on reusable furnishings, vintage pieces and eco-friendly materials, with inventory returning to the studio for the next home. That approach also suits Granville, where older homes look best with pieces that have some history of their own.
