Oak Drive is not a house you tame. Terracotta tile sweeps across the ground floor in fanned arcs, cedar-beamed ceilings sit over hand-textured white plaster, a floating white staircase climbs past a glass wall, and the whole back of the house opens onto lawn and trees. For this home staging in Buckeye Lake project, the brief we gave ourselves was simple: support the architecture, never compete with it.
That meant restraint in the color. Cream linen, pale rugs and light oak kept the big living room from going heavy under all that wood. Cane-back chairs and round tables in the dining area echo the curves in the floor. A carved wood bench and a chunky console in the entry nod to the house's Spanish-leaning bones without turning it into a theme.
Big, open rooms read as empty in listing photos unless the furniture is sized for them. We used long, low banquette seating and generous rugs to anchor the great room around the fireplace, then set a second dining spot by the windows so buyers can see how the space divides. Upstairs, rattan headboards and simple white bedding keep the bedrooms quiet after the drama downstairs.
