Buckeye Lake is under 10 miles south of our Newark studio, just off I-70. Lake houses are some of the most fun homes we stage.

Home staging in Buckeye Lake, Ohio is a short drive south of our Newark studio, roughly 10 miles down SR-79 near I-70. The lake straddles the Licking and Fairfield county lines, and its shoreline mixes small lakefront cottages, year-round lake homes and properties that have been added onto over the years. Buckeye Lake State Park draws visitors all season, and many buyers are picturing weekends as much as weekdays. Others want a full-time home near the water and still within reach of Columbus by I-70.
Lake homes sell a lifestyle, so the staging should show how the house hosts: enough seating for a crowd, a table big enough for a long dinner, and bedrooms that sleep guests. At the same time, the view is the main feature, and furniture should never block the windows or the path to the water.
Many lake houses also have unusual architecture. Tile floors, wood ceilings, split levels and rooms that were once porches all need furniture chosen for the space, not a standard suburban package. Cottages bring the opposite problem: small rooms that need compact pieces so they do not feel cramped in photos.
Oak Drive had white textured plaster walls, terracotta tile laid in sweeping arcs, a warm wood ceiling and a floating white staircase with a cable rail. A wall of glass looked out over green lawn and trees. We kept everything low and light so the view and the architecture stayed in charge, and left clear sightlines from every seat to the glass.
In the long living room, built-in banquette seating got cushions and pillows in soft neutrals, with a round wood coffee table and a pale rug to break up the tile. The dining area used round tables with cane-back chairs, and the entry got a wood console under an arched mirror. A carved wooden bench added some craft, and a bedroom with two rattan-headboard beds showed buyers the house could sleep a full weekend of guests.

Buckeye Lake is under 10 miles from our Newark studio, so it is one of our closest areas. Delivery and logistics, including anything unusual like steps down to a lakefront entrance, are part of the custom proposal we prepare after the onsite assessment.
Yes. Small rooms need compact furniture, lighter colors and fewer pieces so buyers can see the floor and the view. We confirm measurements during the onsite assessment to avoid pieces that will not fit through doors or up narrow stairs, a common issue in older cottages.
If you are still using it, occupied home staging works well: we mix supplemental pieces from our inventory with your own furniture and pack away the personal clutter that builds up in a lake house. If it is empty for the season, vacant home staging brings in furniture, art and decor for the main rooms.
We usually start with the entry, living room, dining area, kitchen and primary suite, then add guest bedrooms because lake buyers want to know how many people the house can host. On Oak Drive that included a bedroom with two beds. Any other space you want staged can be added to the proposal.
