Rooms: Living room, Dining room, Primary bedroom
Dana Avenue is a compact, freshly updated Columbus house. The living room is built around a painted black brick fireplace flanked by two small high windows, with pale walls and light floors everywhere else. That single dark feature is the house's personality, so our home staging started there.
We framed the fireplace instead of competing with it. An olive velvet slipcovered sofa and two cream armchairs face a round oak coffee table on a light patterned rug, and a large textured canvas on the mantel softens all that black. A slim olive tree fills the corner by the window. The round table matters: in a narrower room it keeps walking paths open and looks generous in a wide shot.
Next came the dining room, because in a smaller house buyers want proof the table fits. A rounded-edge oak table with black Windsor-style chairs, a dark sideboard and a tall landscape print sit under the existing iron lantern pendant. The primary bedroom is kept simple and warm: a curved bouclé headboard, fluted wood nightstands, chocolate waffle bedding and a fringed ivory throw that catches the window light.
